Out-going president of the Nigerian Labour Congress
and Action Congress (AC) governorship candidate in Edo State,
Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, got the endorsement of Christians in Edo
State, as the next governor of the state come May 29.
The endorsement of Oshiomhole was announced by President of
Christians in Positions of Authority (CRIPA), Pastor Collins
Okonofua, at the end of their well-attended meeting at Motel Plaza
in Benin City.
He said CRIPA examined all contestants for the governorship race and
found Oshiomhole the best in terms of service delivery.
The CRIPA leader said the past performance of the labour leader
stood out and members believed that Oshiomhole was the only one to
put Edo back to its glorious past. He said out of all the
candidates, Oshiomhole was the only one without scandal, blemish and
a dedicated servant of the common man.
Okonofua said "he ran the NLC with a profound sense of humility and
some wanted him to go for a higher office, but Comrade Oshiomhole
chose to start his political career from his home state, as charity
begins at home."
He said the Church has no equivocation in supporting him as the next
governor of Edo State, adding that CRIPA will mobilise the people to
vote enmasse for him.
He urged Christians to attach importance to the project by turning
out in thousands to vote Oshiomhole as the next Governor of Edo
State.
